Living Labs

In our dictionary a living lab is a testbed for digital solutions, and they are already an important and integral part of our research within the field of smart cities and communities. Living labs are small ecosystems that can facilitate collaboration between multiple stakeholders e.g. academia, municipalities, industry and citizens in general. Co-creation between different stakeholders is vital for the further creation of smart cities and communities. Our previous research project, OrganiCity, is a successful example of the value of co-creation with citizens. The main outcomes of the project are published in the OrganiCity Playbook, a guide on how to launch experimentation as a service in a city.

Testing digital solutions in living labs is also an integrated part of the SCORE project, where cities are working together to find common challenges and develop solutions to be tested in living labs in their first phase before being implemented in other cities.
